MG Y-Sommertreff 2009

Manfred (Noll) und Karl Heinz (Borchers) hatten mal wieder zu einem Y Treffen geladen und viele (YT s , 4 ) kamen. Am Freitag Abend war die Gelegenheit sich für den Samstag mit seiner Ausfahrt ins Bergische Land einzustimmen und Neuigkeiten zum Thema Y auszutauschen

Samstag Morgen beim Start konnte  man die  MG - Y Familie schon am äußeren erkennen.(Harris Hut) Nach der ca. 63 km langen Vormittagsetappe mit Besuch eines Kuriositätenmuseums ( Bei Dr. Blödsinn) trafen sich alle zur Mittagsrast in der „Bergischen Rhön" in Lindlar. Die Nachmittagsetappe führte über schöne Bergische Landstraßen , vorbei an der Einfahrt zu „Lerners Teileshop" und an den tiefhängenden schwarzen Wolken , die Teilnehmer zurück auf den  Marktplatz der Stadt Lennep. Hier  empfing uns Manfred  zu einer  kurzen aber schönen Stadtführung.(Röntgen Museum)

Nach dem Abendessen im Hotel „Berliner Hof" folgte die obligatorische Siegerehrung. Die Preise gingen wie es sich für ein Internationales Treffen gehört in 3 Länder ,  Niederlande, Luxemburg und Deutschland. Danach folgte die schon bekannte Abfolge des Berliner Hofs  „ Getränke nach Wahl : Biere  und Weine inclusive bis Uschi (Noll)zum Aufbruch bläst (Weil sie die Tische zum Frühstück eindecken muss).

Am Sonntag  ging es gemeinsam zu einer Führung durch  Schloss „Burg" an der Wupper mit anschließender Bergischer Kaffeetafel .Dabei weinte der Bergische Himmel  sehr ergiebige Abschiedstränen. Man erkennt das am „ full weather equipment „ an den YT's.  Danach  begaben sich die Teilnehmer auf die Heimfahrt. Alle waren sich einig das dieses Treffen auf jeden Fall zu wiederholen ist da die Persönlichen Kontakte familiären Charakter haben.

Manfred (Noll) and Karl Heinz (Borchers) had once again organised a 'Sommertreffen' (Summer Meeting) for "Y"s in the Bergi Country. The meeting was attended by many YTs (four in total) and a Y saloon.  On Friday evening there was an opportunity for all the participants to meet and discuss both their cars and the programme for the weekend.

On Saturday morning the MG - Y family, recognised by their 'Harris Hats', (Karl Heinz had purchased these in Rosmalen) could already be seen outside the hotel. The fairly long morning drive of approximately 63 km (40 miles), included a visit to a curiosities museum run by curator and owner, Dr.Blödsinn. After this we continued to Lindar where we all met for lunch in all the "Bergische Rhön".  The afternoon stage led through beautiful countryside roads, past the entrance to "Lerner's Parts Store". Although we were fortunate in the fact that there was no rain there were black clouds in the sky all around us. The participants returned to the marketplace of the town of Lennep. Here Manfred welcomed us to a brief but beautiful tour of the city including the Röntgen Museum.

After dinner in the Hotel Berliner Hof followed the obligatory awards ceremony. Prizes were given out as it was an International Meeting of 3 countries, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany. This was followed by the already established sequence of the 'Berliner Hof' "Beverage of choice": beer and wine included until Uschi (Noll) had to leave, (because the tables had to be laid for breakfast).

On Sunday we all went for a guided tour of the castle "Schloss Burg" on the Wupper Berg; afterwards we all had Bergischer coffee. The Participants were all sad to leave the Bergi area, having experienced such an enjoyable visit.  From the attached photographs one can recognize the comprehensive "full weather equipment" of the YT's. Then the participants set off for home. Everybody agreed that they had a good time and wished for a repeat run next year, in the true spirit of Y Family contacts.
