VUF 765
VUF 765 was recently (October 2024) advertised on eBay and sold to a new owner, but sadly we do not know the original chassis number yet: hopefully the former or new owner will contact us at somestage to update that. In the interim however we thought we should capture the pictures and details.
Details provided by the seller
1948 MG Y Type Hot Rod in Black with a Dodge Petrol 5.2 L 318ci V8 LA engine paired with an automatic gearbox and Lokar shifter. V5 present, registered as a Historic Vehicle so tax and MOT exempt. Starts and drives. All steel period body and chassis, chopped and channelled, steel and aluminium interior, suicide doors, forward opening windshield, rust free and in very good condition as yet to be finished and driven, always been dry stored. New Aston 72 spoke wire knock-off wheels (6x16, 4.5x16) with new tyres, new aluminium radiator, new independent Hoyle front suspension and steering rack, disc brakes with new calipers, MGB V8 rear axle with leaf springs, period brass headlights, seatbelts etc. Also included are a new matching black air filter scoop and the correct bonnet which would require some fabrication to fit.
The car has been beautifully and meticulously fabricated which took hundreds of hours so wasn’t cheap, it’s mechanically sound but would need going over before being driven on the road. Some electric wiring needs finishing like lights and gauges, it could do with some mirrors, indicators etc. When finalized the logbook would require updating. It’s at a stage where the new owner could easily add their own touches to it and get it ready over the winter to be enjoyed next year. Even by just moving it on the drive it gathered a lot of attention so be prepared as it does draw a crowd pretty quick! It would make an ideal promotional vehicle too.
Any inspection welcome, collection from Kingswinford, West Midlands.
